Chapter 124 – Beast Contract
"Ding~ Congratulations on killing the level 30, 2-star BOSS [Greedy Dragon Emperor, Shigula] (since the instance rewards remain unchanged, all BOSS rewards including drops are settled as 1-star). Since all your teammates have perished, you will receive 100% full rewards and the last hit bonus: EXP 3,000,000, Reputation 6,000!"
"Clang!"
Countless spoils of war fell from the corpse of the Greedy Dragon Emperor, presenting themselves before Zhang Yi, while behind him, the players from Proud of the Crowd hadn't yet approached.
Zhang Yi quickly reached out to collect the spoils, and with each item he touched, he heard a notification—
"Ding~ Congratulations on obtaining [Blade of Greed] 1!"
"Ding~ Congratulations on obtaining 55 Gold Coins!"
"Ding~ Congratulations on obtaining [3-star Treasure Chest] 1!"
"Ding~ Congratulations on obtaining [Helmet of Greed] 1!"
"Ding~ Congratulations on obtaining [Armor of Greed] 1!"
"Ding~ Congratulations on obtaining [Beast Contract] 1!"
"Ding..."
With a series of over a dozen notifications, Zhang Yi, with astonishing hand speed, picked up all the items dropped by the BOSS, leaving the belated Proud of the Crowd players stunned.
"Holy crap! This guy must have been single for at least twenty years, damn, his hand speed is insane!!!" exclaimed a player from Proud of the Crowd in shock.
Seeing the BOSS taken down by Zhang Yi and all the spoils collected by him in an instant, Proud of the Crowd's leader gritted his teeth in anger: "Damn! Take him down and snatch back the BOSS's loot!"
With the command, the remaining thirty-plus players from Proud of the Crowd charged over aggressively.
Zhang Yi stood beside the corpse of the Greedy Dragon Emperor, calmly raising the Undead Staff.
When a man dies, he faces the heavens; if he doesn't die, he lives for ages.
In a White Name state and with 5 Revival Chances, all of Zhang Yi's equipment was bound. Who was he afraid of?
Facing the large group of Red Name players from Proud of the Crowd, Zhang Yi didn't flinch, swiftly wielding the Undead Staff in his hand.
Boom boom boom boom!
Chain Lightning combined with Undead Storm, just two skills unleashed a massive critical hit damage, instantly killing the three players at the forefront of Proud of the Crowd's charge, while the others, in a state of panic, continued their assault...
A minute later, amidst the scattered bodies of Proud of the Crowd players that hadn't yet refreshed, Zhang Yi, with his HP bar emptied, finally fell to the ground.
"Ding~ You have been attacked by player [Proud of the Hero], losing 312 HP, you are dead!"
"Wow!"
As Zhang Yi's body transformed into a beam of white light and disappeared, from the initial 70 players who entered the instance, only eight players from Proud of the Crowd remained alive, all of whom couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
"My god, this guy... is he a demon?"
"Too terrifying, we almost got wiped out by him alone!"
Hearing the exclamations of his teammates around him, Proud of the Crowd's leader, who still had a third of his HP left and had almost died at Zhang Yi's hands, was overjoyed: "Finally dead! He dropped something, go see what he exploded."
"With such high damage, he must be wearing a full set of level 25 divine equipment, any piece that drops is worth a fortune!"
With these words, Proud of the Crowd's leader eagerly ran towards the spot where Zhang Yi had just fallen.
Meanwhile.
At Hope Town, by the Revival Spring.
"You have been revived, Revival Chance -1, as your accumulated EXP exceeds the EXP required for levels 29-30, EXP -3,000,000, you have not dropped a level!"
"Ding~ Unfortunately, as you did not leave the instance alive, the instance has failed, and you cannot receive the clearance reward!"
"Ding~ Greedy Dragon Emperor, Shigula has died, the hidden instance Dragon Emperor's Tomb is closing..."
With the system's continuous notifications, Zhang Yi appeared in the spring.
Quickly checking the items in his backpack, Zhang Yi was relieved to find the [Beast Contract] still there.
Then, looking at the other items, he couldn't help but drool.
All the equipment was 3-star and unidentified, along with a purple skill book and other items. This haul was even greater than the one from the Skeleton King!
The other items didn't matter, even if they all exploded out, as long as the Beast Contract was still there, Zhang Yi's death was worth it.
However, it seemed that something did indeed explode out.
He remembered that the Greedy Dragon Emperor dropped four pieces of equipment, but now there were only three left in Zhang Yi's bag.
One 3-star equipment had exploded out, benefiting that guy from Proud of the Crowd.
In comparison, Zhang Yi's biggest loss was not being able to receive the Dragon Emperor's Tomb clearance reward.
If it weren't for the sudden intrusion of Proud of the Crowd, Zhang Yi could have left the instance alive and received even richer hidden instance rewards.
What a pity!
Next was the loss from dying.
Dying at level 30 incurred the greatest loss! Because the EXP required for levels 29-30 was five times the usual, it was equivalent to Zhang Yi losing 5 levels from this death!
Without taking the time to carefully examine the spoils, Zhang Yi's mind was occupied with one question: How did Proud of the Crowd's people manage to enter the instance at such a coincidental time?
Because they came with so many people at once, it was clear they were prepared, not just accidentally discovering the Dragon Emperor's Tomb.
It should be noted that the current time was night, not day, and in the previous life, Proud of the Crowd always chose to raid instances during the day.
Moreover, their timing was too perfect! It was as if they knew Zhang Yi and his team were attacking the Dragon Emperor's Tomb at that exact moment!
Just as Zhang Yi was feeling a bit puzzled, the "ding dong ding dong" of friend messages suddenly rang out.
Opening the messages, he found that King's Glory and Storm Angel had been sending messages continuously for several minutes—
King's Glory: "Brother Cheng! How's it going, are you out? Did you take down the BOSS, and didn't let those bastards from Proud of the Crowd snatch the BOSS, right!?"
Storm Angel: "How's it going inside, Brother Qingcheng, how's the BOSS? If you're out, send me a message!"
In addition, there was a message from Han Yaru:
"Zhang Yi, are you out? You're not dead, are you?"
"You mustn't let them kill you, or you'll lose a level! And you'll lose a Revival Chance (sad) (sad)."
The messages from the three people, the first two were concerned about the BOSS, while only Han Yaru's focus was on Zhang Yi, without mentioning anything about the BOSS.
After all, this was the first hidden Dragon Race instance in the Apocalypse world! Invaluable, and Zhang Yi had previously said that the instance rewards would definitely be shared with them.
Without replying to King's Glory and Storm Angel, Zhang Yi sent a message back to Han Yaru: "I'm out."
"Ding dong~"
Han Yaru immediately replied: "Where are you? I'll come find you."
"No need, I have something to do, I'll come find you later."
