Chapter 119 – Greedy Dragon Emperor, Shigula
"Damn it!"
King's Glory spat out blood in frustration; his damage was the lowest in the entire group, which was utterly embarrassing!
After all, King's Glory's level was the lowest among them, and he didn't have any good equipment.
Seeing the 99 damage dealt by King's Glory's arrow, Storm Angel almost burst out laughing, "Brother Glory, your damage is quite touching!"
King's Glory gritted his teeth, "If you think you can do better, go ahead!"
"Alright, watch me."
With the 25-level enhanced 3-star Golden Bow of the Dead in hand, Storm Angel unceremoniously drew the bow and shot a green [Armor Break Arrow]—
-752!
King's Glory was speechless, "Fine, you're awesome, I admit it!"
And so, the battle entered a phase of all-out assault.
Under the close-range containment of twelve Warriors and Knights from King's World and the Storm Family, the Dragon Blood Swordsman couldn't break through, let alone get close to the rear where King's Glory and the others were.
Thus, the Archers and Mages in the back unleashed a frenzy of attacks.
Apart from Zhang Yi, the other two Beastmaster players summoned level 20 Demonic Beasts, which were quickly killed by the Dragon Blood Swordsman before the healers could even react. Their levels were too low, and their aptitude and star ratings were poor. As the initial Demonic Beasts gifted by the System upon the first class change, they were utterly useless except for holding the team back.
With Zhang Yi at the core.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
With an incredibly fast attack speed, Zhang Yi's attacks were rapid and fierce, like a magical turret—
-682!
-1364 Critical Hit!
-682!
-1740 Critical Hit!
-2024 Critical Hit!
With the 189 Agility attribute bonus from the full set of level 25 Undead Set, combined with an 11-star Agility growth, Zhang Yi was landing critical hits almost every other attack, and his damage output was explosive!
Zhang Yi's damage alone was nearly equivalent to half the team's!
Thus, this 30v1 battle ended in just a few minutes. At the cost of the initial deaths of the Assassin and two Warriors from King's World, Zhang Yi finished off the Dragon Blood Swordsman with a final [Fireball Spell], successfully killing it!
"If you dare enter the Dragon Emperor's Tomb, Lord Shigula will... not spare you..."
With a thud, the Dragon Blood Swordsman fell to its knees, the red glow on its body dissipating.
At the same time, a system notification rang in everyone's ears—
"Ding~ You and your teammates have killed the level 30 Lord monster [Dragon Blood Swordsman, Guardian of the Dragon Emperor], earning 20% participation rewards: EXP 100,000, Reputation 72!"
For Zhang Yi, who landed the final blow, an additional notification sounded—
"Ding~ Congratulations on completing This Week's Survival Quest [Lord Hunt], earning a Grand Wheel of Fortune spin! All your survival quests for this week are complete. Please wait for the new survival quests to be released next Monday!"
Zhang Yi wasn't in the mood to spin the Grand Wheel of Fortune just yet and focused on the loot dropped by the Dragon Blood Swordsman.
When it came to picking up items, King's Glory and Storm Dragon King were more enthusiastic than Zhang Yi. Before Zhang Yi could even see what the Dragon Blood Swordsman had dropped, everything had already been picked up by King's Glory and Storm Dragon King.
As agreed beforehand, the loot obtained during the dungeon run would be split among the three parties.
The Dragon Blood Swordsman dropped three pieces of equipment in total. Unfortunately, as a level 30 Lord monster, it only dropped 2-star equipment, no 3-star items, along with two 2-star Treasure Chests, a green Skill Book, and a pile of Enhancement Stones and Silver Coins.
Honestly, there was nothing that caught Zhang Yi's eye.
So, Zhang Yi generously said, "You guys can split the loot; I don't need any."
King's Glory happily replied, "Brother Cheng, you're so generous. I'll follow you from now on!"
Without the help of players from King's World and the Storm Family, Zhang Yi and Han Yaru would have had a hard time dealing with the Dragon Blood Swordsman.
While King's Glory and Storm Angel were dividing the loot, Zhang Yi walked past the Dragon Blood Swordsman's corpse and approached the light curtain.
The introduction for the [Dragon Emperor's Tomb] instance appeared before Zhang Yi in the form of a dialogue box—
[Dragon Emperor's Tomb] (Hidden Instance):
Description:
In the Dragon Race, "Emperor" is the highest honor, yet it can be divided into seven ranks.
To become the strongest Dragon Emperor in the eyes of the world, internal wars often break out among the Dragon Emperors.
Once, a first-rank Dragon Emperor, [Greedy Dragon Emperor, Shigula], who ruled a small tribe within a branch empire of the Dragon Race, was unwilling to be under the rule of the seventh-rank Dragon Emperor [Dark Dragon Emperor, Iguno]. He attempted to rebel but was discovered by [Dark Dragon Emperor, Iguno], who severely injured and sealed him in the [Dragon Emperor's Tomb], ensuring that [Greedy Dragon Emperor, Shigula] could never leave the [Dragon Emperor's Tomb]...
Instance Rules:
Players must kill the Dragon Blood Swordsman, Guardian of the Dragon Emperor, to break the seal on the Dragon Emperor's Tomb and enter.
The instance difficulty is divided into Normal, Elite, and Nightmare levels, with corresponding player limits of 5-30, 31-50, and 51-100. The final instance rewards for all three difficulties are the same.
Note: The Dragon Emperor's Tomb is blessed by divine light, granting players an additional 20% rewards when conquering it during the day. Each time a player fails to conquer the instance, a three-day cooldown is required before re-entry.
Since the rewards are the same, it makes sense to start with the lowest difficulty, Normal.
By this time, King's Glory and Storm Angel had finished dividing the loot and came over, looking at the instance entrance in disbelief.
"Is this... a hidden instance entrance?"
King's Glory couldn't believe it, "Brother Cheng, how did you discover this hidden instance?"
"That's not the point," Zhang Yi got straight to the point, "I need your help to clear this instance. As a guarantee, the instance rewards can be split evenly, but the Beast Contract must be mine."
A Beast Contract allows a Beastmaster class player to sign a contract and gain the ability to summon that beast.
After reaching level 10 and undergoing the first class change, players have a very small chance of obtaining a Beast Contract while grinding monsters in the wild.
Previously, during the many days spent grinding in the Undead City, Zhang Yi had obtained two Skeleton Warrior contracts. However, since they were low-level contracts, the summoned beasts would have poor aptitude and quality, so Zhang Yi sold those contracts.
At this moment, Storm Angel was puzzled, "How do you know this instance will definitely drop a Beast Scroll?"
"Uh..." Zhang Yi paused and said, "I'm just guessing."
"If a Beast Contract drops, it must be mine. Everything else will be split fairly."
King's Glory and Storm Angel said in unison, "No problem!"
"Alright, get ready, let's enter the instance."
