Chapter 113 – Dragon Race Hidden Quest Scroll
As the time hit 59 minutes, with only one minute left before the dungeon would end, Zhang Yi, who hadn't found a single target, was getting anxious.
There were plenty of monsters on the street, but killing them would only yield a few dozen energy points at most, far less efficient than killing players. Moreover, even if he killed monsters in the last minute, it was impossible to collect the remaining 3000 energy points.
Just as Zhang Yi was feeling extremely anxious, suddenly a figure emerged from a small alley ahead. Upon seeing Zhang Yi, the figure froze for a moment, then turned around and ran as if they had seen a ghost.
Zhang Yi immediately equipped the [Death's Boots] and activated [Godspeed] to give chase.
The next moment...
"Ding~ You have killed Zone 885 player [Bear Outbreak], energy points 4253!"
Just then, a global announcement echoed from the sky—
"Ding~ Attention all players: The City of Energy dungeon has ended, the Energy Mall is now open and will close in 1 hour. Players can exchange prizes in the Energy Mall using the energy obtained in the dungeon!"
In the last second, he hit the million mark!
With the system's notification, Zhang Yi excitedly opened the Energy Mall interface. On the panel displaying EXP, gold coins, 1-2 star equipment, 1-2 level enhancement stones, 1-2 star treasure chests, and other items, he scrolled all the way to the bottom, where he saw the item he had been searching for—
[Dragon Race Hidden Quest Scroll] (Legendary Magic Scroll): The only one in Grand Zone 8, requires 1 million energy points to exchange!
Without hesitation, Zhang Yi spent 1 million energy points to make the exchange.
"Ding~ You have used 1 million energy points to exchange for [Hidden Quest Scroll] 1!"
Only after obtaining this scroll did Zhang Yi breathe a sigh of relief.
In his previous life, this scroll was obtained by a player from another safe zone. According to historical progression, if Zhang Yi had been a moment later, this scroll would have been exchanged by that player who had also gained 1 million energy points in the dungeon!
Zhang Yi's purpose for entering this dungeon was precisely for this legendary magic scroll—
[Dragon Race Hidden Quest Scroll] (Legendary Magic Scroll):
Description: Upon use, the player can trigger an ultra-rare Dragon Race hidden quest. If the quest is completed, the player can receive unparalleled rewards and have a chance to obtain Dragon Race treasures, gain the favor of the Dragon Race, and join the Dragon Race faction...
Usage Level: 50
1 million energy points could indeed be exchanged for many priceless items, but compared to this legendary Dragon Race hidden quest scroll, the prizes in the Energy Mall were insignificant.
In the Apocalypse world, with 233 national servers, each Energy Mall had only one [Dragon Race Hidden Quest Scroll].
Zhang Yi remembered that in his previous life, according to later system statistics, only 75 out of the 233 Dragon Race Hidden Quest Scrolls in the entire Apocalypse world were obtained by players from 75 different countries. Among those 75 players, only 12 completed the quest, and only one received the ultimate reward: joining the Dragon Race faction!
This player, it seemed, later harnessed the power of the Dragon Race to summon a dragon cavalry and slaughtered a secondary main city with 100,000 players in [Cloud City], becoming one of the only three [Heaven] Dragon Race faction players in the entire Apocalypse world!
Since this specific information was not disclosed by the system, its source was the self-narration of that [Heaven] Dragon Race faction player in later years.
Even though the reborn Zhang Yi now possessed the Dragon Bloodline, which could potentially allow him to join the Dragon Race faction once it reached level 10, it was only a possibility, not a certainty.
Zhang Yi would not miss any opportunity to join the Dragon Race faction.
Because the Dragon Race is the supreme existence that billions of players in the Apocalypse world yearn for!
And now, the opportunity to join the Dragon Race faction was once again in Zhang Yi's hands.
Excited and thrilled, Zhang Yi placed the [Dragon Race Hidden Quest Scroll] into his backpack.
Since it required level 50 to use, Zhang Yi still had plenty of time to prepare before then. Whether or not he could join the Dragon Race faction was another matter, but this hidden quest had to be completed! Otherwise, Zhang Yi wouldn't even have the chance to join the Dragon Race faction!
After this, Zhang Yi received another reward message from the system.
The rewards from the City of Energy dungeon were not limited to the Energy Mall; otherwise, the loss would be too great for those players who spent two or three days in the dungeon but didn't gain much energy—
"Ding~ Player [Yinuo Qingcheng], based on your performance in the City of Energy dungeon, the system is calculating your rewards. Accumulated dungeon online time of 3 hours and 52 minutes reward: EXP 295,200, Silver Coin 142! Prestige 358. Accumulated energy gain of 1,000,521 points reward: EXP 3,000,000 (maximum limit reached), Gold Coin 100 (maximum limit reached), Prestige 6,000 (maximum limit reached)!"
The dungeon participation rewards were indeed generous. It's worth noting that Zhang Yi painstakingly completed a level 7, 700 difficulty coefficient [Undead Requiem] quest in the Undead City, which only rewarded 250,000 EXP, and that was with the intimacy bonus included.
And for the dungeon participation reward, without doing anything, just by staying inside for four hours, he received a 3 million EXP reward!
This meant that as soon as the City of Energy dungeon ended, almost all the safe zones in the Apocalypse world were bathed in golden light, with all participating players leveling up under the generous EXP rewards, and many players even leveling up two or three levels!
If Zhang Yi had been in the dungeon from the start, the rewards he would have received would undoubtedly have been several times more than what he earned in the past two days in the Undead City. But Zhang Yi did not regret it.
Because if it weren't for completing the [Acquire Rare Materials] quest in the Undead City over the past two days and obtaining the full set of 2-star Undead Set rewards, Zhang Yi wouldn't have been able to easily dominate Zone 885 in the dungeon.
As the three-day and two-night City of Energy dungeon finally ended, countless players began exchanging for various prizes they needed in the Energy Mall.
And Zhang Yi, as the million-energy point achiever, could only watch.
However, he wasn't interested in the 2-star equipment or green skill books available in the Energy Mall.
Because besides that, Zhang Yi received an even rarer reward—
Cross-region announcement for Zone 885 and Zone 886: "Ding~ Congratulations to players [Yinuo Qingcheng], [Proud of the Sword], [Proud of Nine Provinces] for ranking first, second, and third in energy in the [City of Energy] dungeon, receiving [Undead Set] (2-star seven-piece set, class not determined) 1!"
"Ding~ The regional dungeon has ended, and the cross-region chat channel has been closed!"
