First of all, he checked the Genetic Development Interface.

Among the eight abilities listed in the third section of the Genetic Development Interface, he had only one left to acquire: Ground Strike. As for the rest, Chainsaw Arms, Drill Gauntlets, Grappling Hook Arm, Rotary Blade Launcher, Cinch Net Blaster, Mana Core, and Morph Disguise, he had already acquired them all a long time ago. As for the skills in this section of the store, he hadn’t purchased a single one yet.

With his Body attribute at 250, Mind at 207, and Magick at 300, he currently met the requirements for the Ground Strike ability and the Restoration skill. Ground Strike also required Enhanced Strength at Rank V and Enhanced Durability at Rank V, while Restoration required Enhanced Regeneration at Rank V and the Mana Absorption perk at Rank III. All of these skills and perks were already maxed out, meaning he satisfied all the additional requirements as well.

Since he currently had 335,278 MP, he had enough mana to purchase both of them. He read the description of each.

Ground Strike: Channel your strength into a devastating strike when dropping from above. The greater the height, the more damage you deal upon landing. Additionally, upon impact, a powerful shockwave of compressed air spreads from the point of contact, powerful enough to send all nearby foes tumbling to the ground.

Rarity: Epic

Total Upgrades: 5

Requirements: Body 250, Mind 160, Magick 265, Enhanced Strength (Rank V), Enhanced Durability (Rank V)

Cost: 170,000 MP

Purchase: Y/N

Restoration: Enter a deep restorative sleep. While resting, your body rapidly heals any existing injuries without increased mana consumption. Additionally, during sleep, you passively draw mana from the surrounding air, replenishing your reserves. If you possess Feral Instincts, they will instantly rouse you at the first sign of nearby danger. Upgrades grant additional benefits to the skill.

Restoration seemed to be a very useful skill. So far, he had never slept as a mutant, since there was no need for it. As long as he had enough mana in his body, he could remain active twenty-four hours a day, always full of energy and strength. But after acquiring Restoration, he would be able to sleep, and while his body rested, he could apparently gain some useful benefits. He suspected he probably wouldn’t be using Restoration much, as he didn’t need to sleep, but when he sustained a serious injury and needed to heal quickly, it was nice to be able to put his body to sleep so it could recover faster.

He was also confident there would be plenty of opportunities to use Ground Strike. So, he acquired both Restoration and Ground Strike, spending a total of 295,000 MP. After that, he checked his current stats.

Chainsaw Arms: Rank III (100%) (Upgrades: 3 of 5) (Epic)

Drill Gauntlets: Rank III (89%) (Upgrades: 3 of 5) (Epic)

Grappling Hook Arm: Rank III (97%) (Upgrades: 3 of 5) (Epic)

Rotary Blade Launcher: Rank II (91%) (Upgrades: 2 of 5) (Epic)

Cinch Net Blaster: Rank II (83%) (Upgrades: 2 of 6) (Legendary)

Ground Strike: Rank I (0%) (Upgrades: 0 of 5) (Epic)

Restoration: Rank I (0%) (Upgrades: 0 of 5) (Epic)

Besides these abilities, he possessed many others, such as Smashfists, Cloak, Mind Reader, and many more, along with skills like Enhanced Agility, Feral Instincts, Adhesive Secretion, and various others. Most of these abilities and skills were classified as Uncommon, and he had already maxed out each one, acquiring every possible upgrade. They could no longer progress any further, so they were no longer listed in his stats.

He noticed that Chainsaw Arms had reached 100% and were therefore ready to be upgraded to Rank IV. As for the Drill Gauntlets, he used them only against tough enemies with strong armor that wasn’t easy to break through with his other weapons. He had mostly used Cinch Net Blaster to capture mutants. However, after he developed arachnoxes for that exact purpose, he almost stopped using that ability, as there wasn’t much need for it in battle. Similarly, he didn’t employ Grappling Hook Arm and the Rotary Blade Launcher very often either.

So, while he used his chainsaws often because they were effective against weaker types of monsters, he didn’t use the rest of his abilities as frequently, so they hadn’t quite reached the 100% mark. Still, each of them was getting there.

Anyway, he had five skill points to allocate. He used one point to elevate Chainsaw Arms from Rank III to Rank IV. He had already acquired the first three upgrades for this ability, but now that it was at Rank IV, it could have a total of four upgrades. He checked out the fourth upgrade.

Chainsaw Arms: Rank IV (0%) (Upgrades: 3 of 5) (Epic)

  1. Bloodlust Fury: Killing an enemy with chainsaw attacks restores a percentage of health for a short time. Each consecutive kill amplifies the health restoration. Cost: 2 SP
He purchased this upgrade, and he now had two skill points left. He decided to check the first available upgrade for Restoration.

Restoration: Rank I (0%) (Upgrades: 0 of 5) (Epic)

  1. Shield: When you use this skill to sleep for at least six hours, you gain an additional measure of protection, an energy shield that can defend you from all kinds of damage. Cost: 2 SP
It was definitely a very useful upgrade to pass up, so he spent his final two skill points to purchase it. He was now left with about 40,000 MP, which wasn’t all that much. Keeping his eyes closed, he employed his Mana Vision perk, sweeping the surroundings until he located the nearest mana cloud. Once his reserves were restored, he would head back to his lair to assess the progress on his secret project.
