Chapter 81: Infiltration of the Abyssal Core
(Samuel's POV)
The fortress pulmed with a sickening aura, a blackened husk of stone and corruption. The deeper I ventured, the more suffocating the presence of the Abyss became. The air was thick, heavy with whispers that scratched at my mind, promising power, tempting me to succumb.
I smirked. "Nice try."
Unlike Baron, I didn't need to beg the Abyss for power. I was already stronger than anything it could offer.
I clenched my fists, feeling the weight of my Gauntlets of Abyss, dark metal infused with the very energy I sought to destroy. The irony wasn't lost on me—using the Abyss's own tools against it.
Ahead, at the heart of the fortress, a massive pulsating core of swirling darkness loomed. It was alive, tendrils of void energy stretching outward, feeding power to the entire stronghold.
This was Baron's anchor. His lifeline.
Destroying it would cripple him.
But, of course, it wouldn't be that easy.
The moment I stepped forward, a deep, guttural voice echoed from the shadows.
"You dare defile the Abyss?"
