Voices.
Fragmented, cacophonous, distorted like the cries of drowning men echoing underwater. Desperate sounds—some exalted, others full of panic. But all of them seemed too far away to make any sense.
I tried to open my eyes... but there were only blurs.
Everything around me was numbing and hazy, as if my soul were floating a centimeter above my body, unable to return to its center.
Sometimes, a burst of light.
The outline of a face, covered in sweat and blood.
An expression of triumph. Of victory.
Then another face appeared—pale, trembling, eyes full of horror.
As if they were tampering with something they didn’t understand.
As if they were trying to stitch together a body already condemned.
’Are they treating me?’
