The Girl Who Hacked The Magic System

Chapter 110 - The races of the land

The soirée with the Castro princess and her friends ended up just being the first instance of a very repetitive clash between me and other people.

Be it with the history and society teachers, with classmates, seniors, and, once, even with Academy staff, the beastkin issue sooner or later would come up.

The official name for all intelligent races that are not human is demihumans.

According to the Church, they were created after the humans by demons who were trying to imitate the act of creation of the goddess.

And that’s why, they would say, those races are only half-human and not entirely human. That is the reason for the ’demi-’ part of their name.

The beastkin use the word mankind to refer to all intelligent races, including humans. That term is not acknowledged by the human kingdoms.

Lovelace told me that before the rise of the goddess, the term Mankind was widely used in the human realms.

So it was probably under the influence of the Church that the term was abolished, and yet, the history books act like it never existed to begin with.

There are some older history books in the restricted section that I’m yet to read, so they might shed some light on it.

In any case, Mankind is divided up into four categories. Humankind, fae folk, beastkin, and dragonkin.

Humankind is your basic human, like me. Not much to talk about here.

Fae folk are the elves and dwarves. They live deep inside forests and mountains and rarely interact with humans.
