Global Gods : Skill-Resonance Awakened

Chapter 371: Ch 371 : Nepo-King Anohara

The fragile peace that had only recently settled over the inner world, shattered like a glass mirror hitting stone.

While the Demigods, the guardians of the Emperor’s domain, had withdrawn to the city of Gods to pursue their own divine ascensions, a vacuum of oversight had opened in the mortal realm.

In this silence, the mortals were left to their own devices, unaware that the cracks appearing in their society were not accidental, but the deliberate handiwork of the Jade Empress.

Though she ruled a mere hundred thousand worlds, a fragment compared to the sprawling Cosmic Empire, the Empress possessed an intuitive mastery of perception that Anohara, who focused solely on the structural and logistical betterment of his empire, lacked.

She understood that in a world governed by information, the one who controls the narrative controls the reality.

The primary battleground for this silent war was Thea’s System Forum. In the early days of the inner world, the forum was an engine of truth, where anything that was being seen by the viewers was the absolute truth approved by Demigod Thea herself.

Thea, the creation of the Emperor, had personally proofread every word of information. Under her watchful gaze, misinformation was incinerated before it could reach a single mind.

If an announcement was vital, it was pinned to the top of the collective consciousness; less important data sank beneath the weight of relevance.

It was a sterile, perfect library of facts.

But as the Demigods decided to distance themselves from mortal affairs, Thea’s protocols also underwent a fundamental transformation.

The system was no longer a curated archive; it became a mirror of the collective desire.

Thea implemented personalized feeds that analyzed what the lifeforms saw and engaged with in the forums. Which made the lifeforms be the kings of their own feeds, as they were in direct control of it.

The most dangerous change, however, was the introduction of the Engagement Economy. To Like or Comment on a post now required a small expenditure of Merits, which were then funneled directly to the creator.

Suddenly, capturing the attention of the masses was no longer just about influence, it was a tangible, tradable currency.

When the lifeforms realized that a few seconds of a stranger’s gaze could earn them a fortune, the nature of information changed.

Content was no longer designed to inform, but to simulate. Users began to post eye-catching Ragebait and hyper-stimulating imagery to lock the viewer’s gaze.

The algorithm, sensing the spike in engagement, pushed these toxic posts even higher, creating a feedback loop of sensationalism.

The Jade Empress was the first to weaponize this new algorithm with professional precision.

She did not need to prove that Anohara was a tyrant; she only needed to make the idea of his tyranny more viral than the reality of his peace.

By employing a billion specialized lifeforms to flood the forums with catchy thumbnails and inflammatory titles, she hijacked the global feed.

Because these posts discussed the King of the Cosmic Empire, the most influential figure in the inner world, they skyrocketed to the top. Once the snowball started rolling, it became an avalanche.

As the posts gained traction, other users, seeking their own share of merits, began to mimic the narrative. Misinformation became the dominant trend. Within weeks, the forum was a sea of slander:

The Corruption Allegations: Claims that Imperial officials took massive bribes to prioritize trade orders, leaving independent worlds to starve while the elite grew fat.

The Fake Statistics: Posts that manipulated data to claim that trafficking and slavery were rising under Anohara’s reign, alleging that he used his wealth to cover up the death toll.

The Question of Qualification: The most damaging narrative of all, the accusation that Anohara was a hollow Nepo-King.

They pointed to his great-grandfathers Anaske and Vel, his ancestor Thorn, and Uncle Light, claiming Anohara had achieved nothing on his own.

The narrative painted him as an ambitious tyrant who used the glory of his bloodline to colonize 20 billion worlds. These blames were enough to ignite the hearts of lifeforms across the multiverse.

Inside the Veridian Palace, the air was thick with tension. An Elf Minister stood before Anohara, his hands trembling as he scrolled through the frantic reports on his system panel.

"Your majesty," the Elf whispered, "the situation is deteriorating. Millions of worlds under our banner are petitioning for independence. They are threatening revolt if we do not release them from the Imperial Contract. Some... some are even speaking of joining the Jade Empire."

Anohara sat on his throne, his face as still as a lake at dawn. "Become independent?" he asked, his voice low but vibrating with the authority of his lineage.

"Is our empire a social party? A gathering where guests can wander in and out at their whim? We built the foundations they stand upon."

"Your majesty, if we do not grant them leave, the chaos will spread. The projections suggest that two billion more worlds will declare independence within the month."

Anohara closed his eyes, his fist clenching slowly on the armrest. "Let them go."

The Elf Minister gasped. "But Sire, the loss of resources, the prestige...."

"Let them be," Anohara repeated, opening his eyes. They were cold and clear.

"I have provided them with benefits they could not dream of in a thousand lifetimes. If their leaders are so easily swayed by the whispers of a masked ghost, then they are not worthy of the protection of the Empire. I respect their choice to be alone. For now. Sooner or later, every world will return to the Cosmic Empire."

A predatory light flickered in the King’s gaze. "But tell them this: Business cannot exist without trust. If they break the bond of loyalty, we shall break the bond of trade."

"In fact, immediately stop all exports to any world that declares independence. No starships, no mana-crystals, no medicine, no artifacts. If they want to be independent, let them be truly independent of everything we have built."

The Minister’s eyes widened. A slow, cruel smile began to form on his face.

"A stroke of genius, Majesty. Our workers are currently being overworked by the demand. By cutting off the unfaithful dogs, we lighten the burden on our true citizens. They will soon learn that freedom is very cold without the help of Cosmic Empire"

"And Minister Xavius," Anohara added, standing up. "Find out who is behind these attacks. When I have a name, we will discuss the price of a lie."

As Anohara vanished from the throne room, the System Forum erupted. A notification flashed in violet light, overriding every other post in the multiverse.

[LIVE FEED: THE JADE EMPRESS]

Trillions of screens flickered to life. The Jade Empress appeared, seated in her hall of emerald vines. Her face was still veiled, but her eyes, mesmerizing, toxic green orbs, seemed to look directly into the soul of every viewer.

"Greetings to all the viewers across the multiverse, who have used their precious time to come and listen to me," she said, her voice like silk over a razor. "In an age of tyrants, the truth is the only sanctuary we have left."

The comment section beneath the live feed became a frantic, obsessive blur:

HelloKitty62: I would die for you your majesty, my life is your, this time is nothing!!

LadyKiller52: her eyes... I am being sucked in them. I can’t breathe...

VoidCultist: Finally someone speaks against the Veridian parasites!

SoulSeeker_99: I’m transferring all my merits to her right now! Down with Anohara!

EmeraldFanatic: Why is she still wearing a veil? Even her eyes are enough to make me kneel.

IndependentWarrior: My world just left the Empire. We are coming to join you, Empress!

LustForGreen: I don’t care about the politics, I just want her to look at me again.

TruthBearer: Look at the engagement numbers! Anohara is finished!

DarkStar: I used to be in the Cosmic empire, but now I see the lies. Empress, save us!

DivineBeauty: Those eyes are definitely a talent... I can’t stop watching.

This was no longer a political broadcast; it was a cult-like resonance that united the fragmented lifeforms into a single, obsessive mass.

Her charm had bypassed logic, creating a fervor that threatened to consume the empire from within.

Inside his private study, Anohara watched the system panel. He did not look angry. He looked... analytical.

"And here I thought it would be difficult to catch the person who was behind these posts," he said with a dry, hollow chuckle. He leaned back in his chair, his eyes beginning to glow with a deep gold.

"Your tricks are top-notch, Empress," Anohara murmured, his voice deepening as his aura began to warp the very air around him. "But you underestimated me. You assumed I was going to lie down and take these hits. Well, I willl show you what true hits look like."

Anohara’s eyes flared with blinding light, and then... Their was no then, the livestream abruptly ended just like that leaving all the viewers dazed, their mind unable to process what had just happened.
