Chapter 23: Assassination Attempt
Christopher paused, remembering the proposal.
Mariana Vanir had proposed to the previous owner of this body that he should help bring her any valid information about his family, and she would give him her body for three nights... A tempting deal, considering the beauty before him, but that fool would have run his family into the ground for mere pleasure.
Christopher sighed. "I refused."
"Huh?"
Mariana was stunned. "Come again?"
"You heard me." Christopher frowned slightly.
"But you said you'd think about it."
"Yes, I did think about it, and my answer is no." Christopher replied flatly, adding, "Now get out of my personal space."
"Hey! Show some respect to the young lady!!"
One of the bodyguards yelled.
"What if I don't?" Christopher stared at the man with killing intent.
