Chapter 292: Teach me
Xavier felt oddly displeased and for the first time, he knew why. That pretty female was jumping around with that vulture and her other mates stood with a smile on their faces. How could they share her so easily? That was a question he recently pondered about. His upbringing in the beast world had taught him the importance of females and the need for them to have multiple males. It was nothing new for him but that kind of notion has recently started to make him vexed, angry, and irritated.
He was not interested in having a mate for himself but his tribe needed a Queen so even if it was for duty, he must take a female and produce heirs. He must do that but...the only one that came to his mind whenever he thought of placing on the Queen’s seat was that Pretty female. He hated to admit it but he was indeed attracted to her.
He knew that all he had to do was ask her to become his mate and was sure she would agree. She already had mates who were kings. Smart woman....she knew to choose strength and power above everything else. It made sense for her to do that. Being that pretty made her tempting even for someone like Xavier.
He knew all this and yet, he didn’t like seeing those males around her. Xavier wanted her. He wanted her so bad that his heart ached every time his eyes fell on her.
His gaze followed her every move and his feet did the same as she got down from the plaza before walking in a certain direction with the snake tribe’s females.
Lyra had a huge smile on her face as she walked toward the castle with her friends. Yes, they were her friends.....it felt great having the company of someone of her own gender. It was the calm and similarity that she felt back on the earth with her girlfriends. Her mates seemed flustered when she left with the girls but soon decided to let her be.
"Your majesty, what is your birth tribe?" asked one of the snake females named Rowena making Lyra turn to her. The latter thought for a bit before deciding on an answer, "I’m an Eagle female" Her father, Theodore was an Eagle beastmen so it did make sense for her to belong to the former’s tribe. Her mates once informed her that it was very difficult to detect her lineage through their senses. Lyra could guess why. It was probably because she was half-human from her mother’s side. And with magic coursing in her veins, it must have made it almost impossible for anyone to properly pinpoint her birth tribe.
That made her think of something else altogether. Why didn’t any of her mates find her suspicious when they first met? Shouldn’t they have been hesitant with her bizarre nature? Or were they too lost in love to care about? That made her chuckle.
"So you are a female from the Eagle tribe?" nodded Rowena as though musing about what she had just heard. It was weird for the latter as Eagles are their natural enemies and their queen was someone from the same tribe. However, Rowena felt no displeasure seeing or interacting with Lyra. Their Queen was the loveliest female she had ever met other than her snake sisters.
