Chapter 242: Uncontrollable
Killian observed as his mate absentmindedly grabbed the spoon before scooping the soup from the bowl that was kept in front of her. But the spoon never reached her mouth and hovered in the air. Her ever-lively blue eyes had dimmed and a constant frown was formed between her brows. He could also see that she was trying her hardest to keep a smile on her face to not worry them about how could they not. Not only he but Blake, Victor, and Demir too seemed to have caught on with their mate’s false facade.
Whereas, Blake glanced at Victor with an inquiring gaze to only receive a shake of his head which signaled for him to not ask anything right now. Blake was just about to do that but stopped seeing Victor’s adamant eyes. He wanted to talk to his mate about her worry but it did not seem ideal with how Victor was against it.
Demir too understood them and decided to keep his mouth shut.
"I don’t feel like eating anything" All of them stirred in their places hearing their mate. She pushed the chair that she was sitting behind before getting up, "You guys continue with your breakfast. I will be in the room"
With that, she strode out of the dining room. Killian waited until her footsteps faded before asking, "What happend to her?"
Victor who was the one that received that question, promptly answered, "She had a nightmare"
Demir frowned, "Is she upset just because of a nightmare?"
"Just because of that?" snapped back Victor not at all liking Demir belittling this matter, "Did you not see her? My sweet girl would never get upset just because of a random dream. She is shaken up like that and you here are trying to pass it off as nothing?"
"I didn’t mean it like that, Victor" Demir said while glaring at Victor, "Don’t twist my words. She is my mate too"
"I doubt it" murmured Victor while rolling his eyes and that made Demir fume. The latter got up from his seat and went to grab the former by the collar but came to a halt when he heard a familiar voice.
Peter rushed inside the dining room and exclaimed, "Your Majesty, Prince Lucas, and Prince Noah are here"
Blake furrowed his brows as he followed Peter out of the dining room. And when he reached the entrance of the palace, two familiar figures caught his eye. They were in their beast forms most probably to avoid the cold wind and snow that was going on outside. Seeing him, as on cue, the two shifted into their beastmen forms and put on the animal skin skirts that were handed by Peter. Then the two entered the castle and asked at the same time.
