Chapter 240: Agonizing feelings
Victor’s words struck Demir like lightning on a stormy day. His hands stopped moving and the meat inside the wok started to char resembling his darkening heart. And only when he smelled the burnt food did he snap out of his daze and tried to reduce the fire to no avail. Maybe it would have worked if he was present at the moment however that was not the case here. His mind was already occupied with whatever Victor had uttered. It was about his mate after all. Everything he heard or would hear about his mate mattered to him.
’Blake’ this name was very familiar not only to Demir but also to Victor and Killian. Four of them trained together to become immortal beast men. They fought each other, cheered one another in their own ways, and had a great bond all along their youth. All of them carried their own tragic pasts with them and overcame them or so they thought.
In reality, they never really recovered from the things that they had gone through until they met their mate. It was not like they miraculously forgot everything. That would never happen. The pain and scar still remain but the happiness that they felt being near their mate shrouded all of that negative feelings. In other words, they did have time to even think of anything about their pasts because this reality and the coming future with their only mate....their solace was far greater than anything else. Her smile, Her beautiful gaze, The adorable expressions she makes around them, and The sound of her laughter in their presence were worth more than any treasure they could have had.
Demir always knew of Blake being his mate’s first love. That snake was the first that made her comfortable enough to stay in the beast world. No matter what her past was, this place was new and unfamiliar to her. And knowing of the gem following its master’s orders, she had and still has the chance to return to her old world. And Demir never wanted something like that to happen. He would rather die than let her go.
"So what if she loves Blake more?" was the first question Demir asked after a long time.
And Victor who heard that frowned, "I see you have lost it" his words came out harsh. He couldn’t believe how Demir could say something like that. His sweet girl belonged to all of them! She should love all of them equally! His mind was already filled with chaos seeing his mate with that snake and now! Now this bastard was talking like some Saint and he couldn’t help but ask, "Don’t you feel ashamed saying that?" then he scoffed, "Now I know that you don’t love her as much as you claim to....."
Those words of his came to a stop because Demir launched a fist across Victor’s jaw making the latter stumble back.
Demir looked menacing as he stepped toward Victor before yanking his robe’s collar and thrusting him against the stone wall. The wall behind Victor cracked a little due to the impact as Demir snarled, "Bloody bastard! Who the fuck do you think you are!? You dare...dare talk about my love to ’My’ mate?"
"And why shouldn’t I!?" Snapped Victor not at all getting intimidated by the one in front of him. He even pushed Demir back and by now, both of them were clutching each other’s robe collars while pushing one another. Raw anger could be clearly felt between them and it seemed like they would tear each other apart if given a chance.
Victor really wanted to do so. He wanted to kill all of his sweet girl’s other mates. He wanted to shred them into pieces before throwing them down the hills so that the wild vultures could feed on them. He was by no means a good person and he had acknowledged this a long time ago. He did not care for anything and did whatever pleased him or so he did in the past. Now.....now he has to be mindful of everything he does and was holding back from killing the ones that annoyed him. And the ones to mostly annoy him were his sweet girl’s mates. Especially Blake. But he couldn’t hurt him. He knew of the consequences if he did so. His mate will abandon him and he never wanted that to happen.
