The most awaited coronation banquet finally arrived and the entire fox tribe was filled with a festive air. After their late king’s untimely death, their tribe was drowned in sorrow and despair. They were still troubled about not finding the murderer of their king but that grief seemed to have reduced with the appointment of their new king.
Lexi was taking care of the arrangements for today’s banquet. Actually, the one to do this must have been the queen of the fox tribe but her mother didn’t like mingling with the outside world after her father’s death. Her mother’s smile seemed to have disappeared with her father. Her heart ached every time she saw her mother like this because she could understand her pain. After all, she had experienced it. Her Derik too died like her father but in his case, she knew the murderer but could not do anything about it.
Dueling for the throne is acceptable in the beast city. The more powerful one deserved that seat and this was the rule everyone had come to accept. Lexi sometimes saw Derek’s brother and knew that he was a powerful individual but she had never guessed that beastman could betray her spouse. It was sudden and Derek had no time to prepare before he lost his life in his brother’s hand. She precisely didn’t know what drove him to do that but she could guess. Males in the beast world tend to do things that they never did before in their lives due to females. They liked showing off their power and authority to impress their beloved.
Lexi tried her hardest to not blame that female but she failed at last. She heard about Kyrell courting Lyra and was sure that he must have done this for that vile female. That wench is something else. First, she stole Lucas from Elena which drove her friend into madness. Yes, only madness could explain Elena’s recent behavior. Sheltering those stray beasts and putting her entire tribe in danger could only mean that her friend has finally lost her mind. And all this was because of that Lyra.
’’All of the arrangements are done, Your highness’’
Lexi came out of her thoughts hearing a servant’s voice. She roamed her eyes around the tribe and nodded in satisfaction. The patio in the middle of the banquet was adorned with decorations of various colored gems and valuable metals like gold that were recently discovered in the beast world. In the center of the patio, the throne which her brother would ascend was regally placed. Many bonfires surrounded the patio according to the tribe’s influence in the city. Lion and Silver wolf tribes were placed near the patio as they are the strongest of the land tribes.
Every tribe inside the city including the eagle tribe was invited to the banquet. The fox tribe has no feud with the eagle tribe and her brother wanted it to keep it that way. He is the king after all and she had no other choice than to heed his orders. Leaving that matter, her brother also informed her to strictly prohibit the Black wolf tribe from entering their tribe. It is not only her brother but the entire city too decided to isolate the Black wolf tribe.
