Chapter 188: They don’t trust me
Noah returned to the rose castle after not getting any favorable response from his father and mother. He didn’t want to argue anymore with them regarding the same matter because they did not understand him.
His mother went on about the queen’s duties and responsibilities but she didn’t understand the main point that he was talking about. His baby dove attracted all kinds of dangers wherever she went. Worst of all, he heard about a rootless beastman entering the rose castle. Thankfully she was unharmed that day because that beastman left without doing anything to her. Even then, her shoulder was injured and Killian healed it on time.
This was the situation that happened even when she remained inside the house, so he didn’t dare imagine what could occur if she goes out. That rootless beastman might once again approach her and worst those stray beasts could see her. His mate was too beautiful for her good.
Noah didn’t even know why a rootless beastman was behind her. He only knew that it could be not for any good reason.
Right after reaching the rose castle, he went to Lucas’ room and informed him about his conversation with his parents. And as expected, his friend was enraged as soon as he finished speaking.
’’Has everybody lost their mind or something?’’ Lucas exclaimed in anger filled voice. He couldn’t believe what he heard. Even after knowing the risk, they wanted his mate to attend that stupid coronation banquet. And the reason for that? Some Queen duties. It was utter nonsense.
Noah too felt that his parents are wrong in this matter but he had to think about others’ perspectives too, ’’But the one that will receive backlash here is our mate. Our tribesmen including Snake, Vulture, scorpion, and eagle tribe will stay silent for now but soon they will start to talk behind her back. They might feel bitter about her not attending the official matters"
Lucas knew that too. He knew that well than anyone else because both his mother and sister went through the same thing. Like his mother, his sister became queen of the tiger tribe by mating with the tiger king. As the tiger tribe was not inside the beast city, his sister found it too difficult to adapt. She was young and decided to learn everything before doing her queen duties but that move of hers made her suffer.
They said that she was lazy and purposefully neglected her duties and was not fit to be a queen of their tribe. There was a time when his sister said that she was regretting mating with a king-beastman. Other females would remain carefree without doing anything but even when she tried, the only thing she received was harsh words in return. And it only got worse because some of the tiger tribe’s elders asked his brother-in-law’s elder brother to take the throne away from him. This made his sister even more miserable. She blamed herself for her mate’s situation.
