Chapter 182: Awkward
When the meeting which was more like banter against both lion and silver wolf tribes didn’t end even after hours, Victor lost his patience and was the first to leave. He was eager and worried about his tribesmen. They trusted him enough to move here from their previous home without any qualms. So protecting them was his job and Victor felt that he had clearly failed to do that.
He made sure to thank Kyrell and rushed out of the meeting even though many complained after he left.
"Tsk tsk, he failed to guard his tribe and now he is being disrespectful towards us," Leopard king said clicking his tongue, "As expected of an immortal beastman. They think too highly of their power and fail in doing simple things"
According to him, the immortal beastmen were just a bunch of immature youngsters who got lucky in becoming powerful. They were not ambitious and always stayed aloof. In general, they didn’t like taking over the throne, so seeing so many of them inside the city acting as kings irked the leopard king.
Blake looked at the leopard king with cold eyes. The one to stop the remaining stray beasts back then was also an immortal beastman. If not for Kyrell’s vigilance, then the only one in control of those stray beasts wouldn’t be the black wolf tribe but the entire city. The stray beasts were large in number and if at all they took control of the city by keeping females hostage then no one would have been able to fight them. Some might say that immortal beastmen could indeed solve this but what about after that?
Blake together with all of the immortal beastmen avoided fighting as much as possible because their blood lust was not an easy matter to deal with. Once triggered, then it might stop only when the entire city gets destroyed.
"But the one to stop half of them from entering the city was also an immortal beastman" Kyrell’s voice brought Blake out of his thoughts.
Blake saw as Kyrell innocently pointed at himself and uttered, "It was me who did that" his crimson eyes landed on Leopard king, "Without me, your tribe would have been the first to get annihilated. Because you are weak"
What Kyrell meant to say was that the only tribe with fewer tribesmen and guards is the leopard tribe so obviously they would become an easy target to the stray beasts. But the only one to understand his harmless inner thought was Blake because it was not at all same to others.
