Chapter 151: Who did it?
Death was not something unfamiliar in the beast world. Leonard himself as his tribe’s warrior in the past and as a king right now had faced numerous battles and duels to defend his tribe. But everyone including him had a principle they followed in the beast world. It is to never attack a fellow beastman when they are out of the battlefield.
King Leonard felt the blood from his face drain when he discerned the dead body’s identity. In the beginning, he couldn’t look at the face clearly because it was beyond damaged to do that. But after getting the corpse down the wall, he immediately recognized the long silver strands...The fox king.
Alan wrinkled his brows before turning the body and he immediately regretted it.
"Cruel bastard" King Leonard couldn’t stop himself from blurting that out. No matter who was responsible for this, that person was someone brutal and frightening.
"Who even is capable of doing this to a five-marked beastman?" Alan muttered while instructing the other guards to shift the body back inside the city.
King Leonard wondered about that too. Five marked beastman are the ones to qualify to become their respective tribe’s kings. He was a five-marked beastman and that is also one of the reasons for his aide Alan to get too worried about this situation.
Alan was an orphan until Leonard took it upon himself to raise him. His spouse too adored Alan and treated him like their own flesh and blood. Alan was a little overprotective about him in particular and Leonard guessed that this might the reason for his anxiety. Killing a king beastman inside the city’s vicinity could be a threat to other tribes too.
"What is the current situation in the fox tribe?" Leonard asked looking at Alan, "Do they even know about the death of their king?"
"We still need to check that your majesty" Alan answered as they started to walk inside the city.
