Chapter 147: Safeguarding
Together, the lion queen and Lyra’s mother wiped the two little cubs with warm water.
Whereas, Noah changed the bedding under Lyra and wiped her entire body before tucking her to sleep. Her breathing went back to normal and he could also see the rosiness coming back to her cheeks.
"Thank you for being safe" He murmured while caressing her jade-like smooth face.
Then he glanced at the two cubs sleeping beside his mate and felt overwhelmed. He walked up to the other side and picked up the elder cub and carefully cradled the little one in his embrace.
As though sensing his father’s touch, the cub opened his beautiful brown eyes that greatly resembled Noah.
"Oh my!" Noah heard his mother exclaim behind him, "He looks just like you!"
Noah couldn’t help but chuckle after seeing his mother gush out about his son. But he felt a tinge of sadness after looking at the cub that resembled only him and was nothing like his mate. He swept a glance at the younger cub on the bed and noticed that he too did not resemble Lyra.
"Is it over!?" He came out of his thoughts after hearing a booming voice outside the room. He completely forgot about the anxious males waiting for Lyra and felt a little guilty. Noah knew that they must be as much as worried as him but only he was allowed inside the room.
Killian fretted in his place while glaring at the door. It took all his remaining patience to stop himself from barging inside the room. He was nervous when his mate cried and shouted but he felt terrified after she stopped crying. So many bad thoughts ran inside his mind but he kept on pushing them to the back of his head. Killian decided to remain as positive as possible because anything bad happening to his mate was not allowed on his watch.
He took a step forward but halted when he saw Noah opening the door, "Baby dove is fine and she is resting right now" then he looked at everyone and added, "Please don’t unnecessarily disturb her by shouting"
Noah tried to turn around but halted when he sensed all of them rushing towards him.
