Chapter 98: Beginning of the manipulation
EAGLE TRIBE
On the eastern side of the city of beasts, a lush forest with tall trees covered the expanse creating a green canopy on the land of the prominent eagle tribe. When the eagle king Derek mated with Lexi, the fox king’s daughter, the whole eagle tribe moved into the city. As eagle beastmen were cold and distant, they chose the farthest territory in the east as their new home.
Beast city was stretched out to thousands of miles and it didn’t hinder different tribes from living peacefully by distancing each other’s territory.
Entering the city was strictly prohibited for the strangers so Prescott remained outside the city and Gregory entered after disclosing his identity as witch master. Tribes welcomed witch masters and healers quite easily as they were valuable for the betterment of the tribe or city.
Gregory expertly avoided all of Lyra’s mate’s tribes and entered the eagle tribe. He clenched his fists as he started surveying the area without making it obvious.
Eagles lived on trees and high cliffs when they were bachelors but after mating, they would build stone houses and straw huts to live as females were unable to climb trees or cliffs because of their human form.
As he continued observing the place, one of the guard eagle beastman strode towards him, "Who are you? Why are you roaming around here?"
Gregory calmed his expression and replied calmly, "I’m a witch master who came here to seek refuge. My tribe perished after an attack from the stray beasts"
The guard beastman frowned and sniffed him, "You are a merman, how can stray beasts attack a tribe which resides inside the ocean?"
Gregory flinched at his remark but soon replied, "Say it frankly if you don’t want a witch master for your tribe, there are many other tribes who are willing to take me in"
The guard widened his eyes, his king would have his head if he sent away a witch master, "I apologize for my rude remarks, you can stay in our tribe"
