Chapter 78: Face to face
After spending some time with Noah, Lyra got up from the bed to take bath and get ready. She needed to clear the things between her and Theodore. It was not so easy to acknowledge him as her father, but she wanted to listen to his words. And she was also curious about her biological mother, she wanted to know the reason for her not visiting her even now. What made her go to another world? What happend for her to get separated from her biological parents.
After washing herself and dressing up, she reached the living room. As she alighted, her blue eyes met similar blue eyes staring back at her. Lyra didn’t know why, but looking at his miserable gaze she felt her eyes burning and a lump forming in her throat.
Theodore observed his daughter’s lovely face and felt guilty for not being able to see her grow up in front of him. He and Iria had many ideas planned for their baby’s future, they discussed it almost every day. He smiled faintly remembering getting reprimanded by Iria for mentioning spoiling their baby once she is born. Then his mood plummeted recalling how devasted they were once the baby was stillborn. He did not even have a moment to console his mate because of the ongoing battle that they were fighting against the fox tribe.
He shook his head trying to get rid of those depressing days. That was all in the past and he would make sure to take revenge on every one of those who caused this misery to his family. He looked up at Lyra smiling.
Lyra smiled awkwardly in return, she didn’t know how to start a conversation with her real father. He was almost a stranger to her as of now and she was contemplating how to address him. Theodore understood her dilemma and opened his mouth "Don’t force yourself, dear, you can talk when you are ready"
She felt apologetic hearing his words. It was her who shouted and created a commotion yesterday without even giving a chance to explain himself, but not heeding that, he was patiently consoling her in return. She bent her head in shame "I’m sorry about yesterday, I shouldn’t have behaved like that"
He chuckled looking at her adorable face "Anyone would have reacted like that in your condition. Don’t worry too much dear"
Lyra nodded her head and thanked him. Then she decided to talk about the important matters regarding her origin "How did I end up in another world?"
Theodore raised his brows and gestured her to come down "Take a seat first, we will discuss everything slowly"
