Chapter 73: Father
"I’ll rip them into pieces" Theodore’s chilling voice resounding inside the room.
His chest was burning because of both happiness and despair, he was exhilarated to learn that Iria was still alive but in anguish because she was in the wrong hands. Gregory that scoundrel! he shouldn’t have trusted him in the past. His friendship with him clouded his mind into believing his words.
The only mate that Iria had in her entire life was himself, but because of Gregory’s constant persuasion, both of them decided to let Gregory inside their life. Everything was good until Prescott entered the picture. King of the Tiger tribe, who was madly in love with Iria, to the point of abducting her. After her abduction, it was Gregory’s plan that brought Iria back to him, now that he thought about it, all of that seemed like a perfectly planned out stunt to gain his trust. But the thing that he couldn’t understand was, how he managed to convince Prescott to support his sick ideas of faking Iria’s death.
He needed to investigate, but how? He was no longer the king of the eagle tribe and he didn’t even know if he could believe his tribesmen. He was already tricked by his tribe’s witch master into believing that sapphire of wish worked by exchange of one’s life, which was a lie. Then he turned towards Blake "Why is Gregory trying to exchange Lyra’s soul?"
Blake replied gritting his teeth "The sapphire of wish is something which is supposed to protect its master, so it will never allow your mate’s soul to bypass when she is in the hands of that sick bastard. So he is thinking about forcing the gem to choose between your mate and my Lilly, then obviously the gem will choose to protect its new master and let Iria’s soul out. And if something happens to Lilly’s body after that..." he couldn’t continue his words. Knowing the hate that Gregory had for Theodore, it was obvious that he could harm Lyra after the exchange of soul.
Theodore clenched his fist, he was seeing red at this moment. What did his daughter do this deserve this? What did his mate do to deserve this? Was it because of him? he couldn’t help but think that all this is his fault. Would this situation had not arrived if he tolerated accepting Gregory and Prescott as Iria’s mates? His blue eyes once again fell on Blake, he curiously opened his mouth "You are a powerful beastman, why are you alright with sharing your mate with other males?"
Blake widened his eyes in surprise because of the sudden question but soon replied "It is to keep her safe, it was her fate to have six males as her mates, so I decided to trust the gem. The sapphire of wish chose this destiny for her, and even though I’m irritated, I chose what is best for my Lilly"
"What if she loves you less or stops loving you because of her other males?" Theodore asked raising his brows
"I believe in her love for me" Blake answered in a crystal clear voice leaving Theodore in reverie.
Theodore smiled bitterly, "I never believed in her love for me, I even blamed her for leaving me alone in this world, if only I could go back to the past"
"We cannot change the past no matter how much we try, Let us think about the future" Victor added
