Chapter 58: Promise
Lyra and Blake continued hugging each other until he broke the silence "Lilly, can you accept Victor as your mate?"
She pulled away from him "Why are you so persistent about this?"
Once again he maintained his silence, how could he say that he was afraid of Victor turning into another Gregory? he was confident in fighting Victor, but he didn't want to make an enemy out of him in this crucial situation, they had multiple enemies presently, fox king and his partners, also they do not even know about Gregory's underlings. It was an incredibly blindsided fight on their way, more than that, he now had a responsibility to protect his children, he didn't want them to suffer the same fate as him. Victor was impulsive and stubborn but he was also the one with a righteous mind, Blake wanted to protect his Lilly even if meant hurting himself by letting her go to Victor.
He looked at her eyes "We need Victor's help in maintaining the peace of our family, we may have to face many enemies in the future, and I want to keep you and our babies safe Lilly"
Lyra frowned seeing his serious face "What is happening, Blake? I don't understand anything"
"Please give me some more time, I'll reveal everything to you, Lilly" he pleaded with hopeful eyes.
Lyra closed her eyes "So I have to accept Victor now?"
Blake's eyes brimmed with tears "I'm sorry, I'm forcing you like this"
She wiped his eyes "It's fine, I was the one who suggested this before, think that you just gave your permission"
Blake's heart clenched "I'm pathetic aren't I?"
Lyra shook her head "Don't think like that, it is the norm in this world to have multiple mates for females and I already accepted it a long time ago, if this can maintain my family's peace and my babies' safety then I don't mind having Victor as my mate. He is a little stubborn and overboard but overall he is a nice guy, so don't feel guilty for it"
