Chapter 27: Bella
Lyra washed up and went out to attend the ceremony with Blake and Lucas by her side. When she reached the place, she observed that it was very lively all around the island. Many Mermen were cleaning the plaza and decorating it with corals.
As she went further she caught a glimpse of mermaids. It was somewhat exciting because everyone she met praised females of the mermaid tribe and she was not the least disappointed. Those females were indeed very beautiful, maybe because they stayed inside the water for some time of the year their skin was delicate and somewhat pale in complexion and all had different shades of blue hair with silver-colored eyes. Lyra screamed in her mind, she was fangirling with hearts in her eyes.
Blake noticed her dazed look and followed her gaze and caught her staring at mermaids, he was confused at first but heard her astonishing voice "So beautiful! They are like a bunch of angels"
Blake looked at her and furrowed his eyebrows, Sure they were better looking than females in the land but his Lilly was more beautiful, he was sure of it. He held her hands and brought her attention to him "Lilly, you are more stunning than them. They are just a bunch of pretty fishes"
Lyra's mouth twitched "You are just biased towards me because I'm your mate, stop flattering me, and a man should never disrespect a lady"
"I never disrespected them, I just stated facts" he was quick to rebut, and the way he talked was like that of a modern world, he sure was influenced by conversing with her on daily basis.
"You did! You called them fishes" she replied
"They are fishes though," he said and shrugged his shoulders
Lyra was not able to refuse that, So she just held Lucas's hand and continued walking.
