Meanwhile, in the horse tribe, there was a banquet being held because it was the beginning of winter, and beastmen found mates to procreate. After all, winter was the time of the year when every female went into heat and was also the time of year when males get to stay in the house because of heavy snowfall.
Blake was not in the house and went hunting because it was the last day they were able to hunt and store food because animals would hibernate after today, while Lyra was preparing fruit jam because it was easy to store, and she couldn't go on without her vitamins for a long time because she was a human being.
She took a large stone pot and put the washed fruits and berries into it and started smashing them and because there was no sugar here, the sweetness would only come from fruits. Then she put the stone pot on the fire and started boiling it and at last added lemon juice and left it to get thickened. After cooling down, the jam tasted pretty good but was not thick like a ready-made one, well it would be okay as long as it was edible.
In the evening when Blake returned Lyra was eating her food, "Lilly I'm back" Blake said in his deep baritone voice.
