Chapter 6: Adventurer’s GUILD
Zayn adjusted his sword belt as he and the others stepped through the towering double doors of the Adventurer's Guild.
The place was alive with noise — mercenaries boasting about their latest hunts, mages discussing spell compositions over pints of ale, and the occasional crash of a tankard being thrown in the background.
It smelled of sweat, steel, and the faintest whiff of roasted meat, which only served to remind Zayn that breakfast had been a mistake.
At the center of it all was the reception desk, where a half-elf woman with golden hair and pointed ears sat behind a polished counter, scribbling something down.
Her uniform was the typical guild fare, but Zayn couldn't help but notice how it... struggled to contain her assets.
Was it mandatory for receptionists to be this well-endowed? He had half a mind to believe it was a marketing tactic.
As soon as she glanced up and spotted Tobias, her eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Ah! A Hero!" she exclaimed, standing up so quickly that the quill she was holding slipped from her fingers and clattered against the counter.
The surrounding adventurers paused in their conversations to glance their way before returning to their drinks, clearly unimpressed.
