Chapter 74: Archery Class (1)
The late afternoon sun bathed the Academy’s courtyard as Adrian walked to the Weapon Training building.
The bell for the next class period had rung a few minutes ago, signaling the end of Forge Mastering and the start of Archery Fundamentals.
Taking quick steps up the stairs, Adrian soon located the class.
The room stretched out before him, an expansive room with a row of targets lined up at the far end, each backed by tightly packed straw bales.
The floor was covered in soft, padded mats, and the walls were adorned with racks of bows and quivers.
At the center of the room stood a tall man who could be described as handsome, with sharp cheekbones, a strong jaw, and dark hair pulled back into a neat ponytail.
His green eyes shone with focus as he held a sleek recurve bow, an arrow nocked and drawn, aimed at a target some fifty yards away.
The string twanged as he released it and the arrow danced in the air for some moments, acting like it was going to return, before changing direction and striking bullseye with a sharp thunk, the sound echoing in the otherwise silent room.
’Adrian was impressed by the show of skill from the man as the arrow had defied all laws of Physics. But it wasn’t something new to him in a world of magic like this.
Setting his bag on the floor, Adrian came to notice with surprise that except for him and the Instructor, the room was completely empty.
It wasn’t like he expected the class to be filled, but he knew of a girl called Lyra who was an archer, but she wasn’t there.
