"Grace?" someone called softly from behind, and Aston and the others turned toward the person—everyone except Arthur.
He remained still, his eyes fixed on the little girl before him. And she was staring right back.
Her gaze was steady. Curious. Searching.
"Did something happen, sweetheart?" A man in his early thirties stepped up behind the girl. His bright red hair, golden eyes, and the natural air of authority around him made it clear—he was a high noble.
A moment later, a woman appeared beside him. She was beautiful, with long silver hair and soft, droopy red eyes. She placed a gentle hand on the girl’s head and asked, "What is it, dear?"
Across from them, Kevin froze when he saw the girl’s face.
There was no mistaking it. She was one of the key characters he had mentioned before. Maybe not one of the heroines, but definitely someone important—someone with depth and a role that would shape the story.

"The brooch," she said, her voice quiet but clear. "It’s pretty." Then, looking up at her father, she added, "I want it."
