Chapter 40: Invitation
It has been two days since Aston woke up.
Bowman has returned to the church and comes to check on the Baron once a day.
His body has recovered fairly well in a week, and he can now walk around with the support of crutches.
His digestion was still not as it was before, so Virelle had to take extra care of it. He was on a liquid diet, but the consumption of his nutrients was closely monitored.
To allow his body to naturally recover, proper rest and nutritional food were extremely necessary.
Currently, they were in the living room, having a casual chat as Virelle diced some apples for her children.
"Why do you need to go to your office this soon?" Kevin had a frown on his face when he asked that. After all, it had been only a few days since he recovered, and his father was thinking of rejoining his work.
"We had accumulated enough funds to make a concrete route to our town, that’s why I don’t want to delay the work by resting here," Aston revealed his reason for being hasty.
Connecting a solid path to their town would boost their revenue several times over. Not only traders but tourists as well would be able to travel to Westmere, which would boost people’s income significantly within a few years.
It was a huge step toward the progression of the town, and Aston didn’t want to delay it any-
"You can’t go. Not until you can walk properly." Virelle, with a smiling face, relayed her command.
