Chapter 36: Challenge-1
About two hundred kilometers away from Westmere, in a quiet little town, stood a large mansion that covered a big part of the land it sat on. The mansion was grand and old, with tall windows and a wide stone staircase leading up to its front doors. All around it stretched several yards of open space, filled with neatly kept gardens.
Bright flowers bloomed in rows, bushes were trimmed into perfect shapes, and stone paths curved gently through the greenery. Trees lined the edges of the property, offering shade and a sense of calm. The peaceful setting made the mansion feel both elegant and a bit mysterious.
However, this was no place for tourism. Not only because it was private property but also because a place so heavily guarded always keeps tourists far away.
Every side of the mansion was under heavy security. Soldiers wearing shining armor and with their weapons strapped to their sides marched around while keeping an eye on the surroundings.
Inside the mansion, too, the number of soldiers easily exceeded a hundred who had an eye on everything happening inside.
The person who owns the place undoubtedly was a cautious man who has lived most of his life as a ruler, but now, all he does is exploit his power and influence to expand his son’s reach.
"He hasn’t responded yet." Inside his study sat the man who owns the heavily guarded property, currently eating some nuts.
"Should I send some people and check on him?" The tall man standing behind the owner asked in a heavy voice.
He was a tall man standing at a height of 6’3 with broad shoulders, curly black hair, and a white mask on his face. His very presence could make people suffocate in the room, however the only person other than him inside the room wasn’t wary of him.
After all, the ex-Viscount knows how loyal his servant was to him.
"If that bastard doesn’t get him here by evening go and hunt that dog by yourself," Turner spoke with a scowl.
