Chapter 125: Royal Books? Once Again Learning Arrays!
Kranos hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. He earnestly wanted to get his hands on the books on arrays, formations, talismans, and alchemy, but he didn’t know how to go about it. Kevin seemed to notice his hesitation.
He turned to Kranos curiously. "Are you interested in any of them?" Kevin looked stunned as he stared at Kranos, noting his expression.
Kranos nodded faintly. Kevin’s eyes widened slightly. The elders stared at Kranos in slight surprise too, their frowns deepening. Ignoring their thoughts, Kevin spoke up.
"If that is the case," he turned to the elders, then continued, "since you elders want the books from the royal treasury, why don’t you give Kranos a chance to study, alongside your disciples, whichever side profession he wants?"
So abrupt? Kranos was shocked by Kevin’s suggestion. Even though it was beneficial to him, he felt that Kevin’s decision was too sudden and impulsive. However, since it worked in his favor, Kranos didn’t say anything and silently watched as things played out.
"We can’t allow a human to look through some of our most precious knowledge!" several elders quickly shook their heads. Even though the decision would benefit their disciples, they had to prioritize the overall situation of the elven kingdom.
Some of the elders, however, were silent, and their eyes flickered with thought. Kevin watched all of this quietly. After they finished their muttering, he said, "In that case, there is no discussion concerning this. You either impart your knowledge to him or forsake your rights to the novel."
After Kevin finished speaking, he watched them as their expressions changed constantly. Most of them were already considering the offer, but they didn’t want to be the first to speak up. They remained quiet, unwilling to break the silence—until a slightly burly man stepped forward from the group.
"Since we have no conflict with the young human, as long as he is willing to promise that he won’t share our knowledge with the remaining humans, then we can agree to impart some knowledge to him."
