After telling the elder everything that had happened, the old man couldn’t help but frown.
"This demon is truly something else," he said furiously. "If only we had eliminated the threat back then, when it was still growing... none of this would be happening."
He paused before continuing grimly.
"It seems its abilities have improved drastically. Previously, it only had one Gu worm that slowly turned people into nutrients for its own growth. But now... now it has another Gu—one that can greatly enhance others’ strength. If this creature breaks through to a higher realm, its Gu worm may evolve again, and it might gain yet another worm with an even more terrifying ability. We must put an end to it now."
As soon as Grandpa Ju finished speaking, he turned to Kranos and said in a voice that none of them could hear except for Kranos, "young man, come and tell me how you were able to kill that subordinate of his that had an immortal body."
Kranos was momentarily startled by the sudden voice in his ear. But upon realizing it came from the elder, he lowered his guard slightly.
"Should I speak it out loud?" he asked. Since he didn’t possess a sound transmission technique, he had no other option. The surrounding elders blinked in confusion but quickly surmised that Kranos and the elder must be communicating.
"Feel free to do so," Grandpa Ju replied with a nod. "I’ve already set up a barrier. No one else can hear us."
"Alright." Kranos took a breath. "I discovered that the man possessed a type of Gu worm—the second kind I mentioned. The so-called immortal body wasn’t truly immortal. Its weakness was the Gu worm itself. No matter how unkillable the body seemed, the worm had a fragile point. I destroyed it... and he wasn’t able to regenerate anymore
