Chapter 134: Are You Insane?
During the three days while everyone at Celestia Academy was getting ready for the big assault, not a single Summoner or Spiritual Guardian seemed to care about the Mannaz who kept dying.
At first, the Academy Elders organized the groups and sent them to each region. Then, whenever the death toll got too high, their emblems alerted them and they sent more and more reinforcements.
But on that final day, they were pretty confused to see that the Mannaz weren’t dying like they’d expected. Only about 10% of the predicted deaths actually happened.
That was really odd. A few Elders tried to call a new meeting to discuss it, but the Summoners shut them down.
"The Risen must be sending only the weak ones, without any leaders to guide them. No reason to overthink this. Focus on the bigger goal," one of the top Summoners told an Elder. "Once we move out, a few Elders will stay to help train the newcomers. They can confirm everything then, anyway."
So nobody heard word about what was really happening in those regions... yet.
By the end of that day, all the Summoners and Spiritual Guardians gathered in a huge courtyard at the Academy.
There were probably a billion people there, all ready to fight, faces set and determined.
Among them were three Spiritual Guardians who looked especially worried: Veyle, Harper, and Matteo.
’Darian hasn’t checked in... Well, he told us to go with the flow and not worry about him. If he needs us, he’ll call us. Let’s fight with everything we’ve got and earn merit points. We need to make more rings to help rebuild the clan,’ Harper thought to the other two.
’But... Lucy and Lucius aren’t among the newcomers. Everyone’s already been sent in...’ Veyle replied, anxious.
