Chapter 66: A simple plan
Just outside the boss area, Yano kept grinning to himself.
The cheers, the excitement, the desperate battle cries of players still rushing forward... it was all music to his ears.
None of them had a clue they had fallen to his trap, marching straight to their deaths all because of a lie he told.
’Idiots,’ Yano thought, his eyes narrowing with pleasure. ’All of them... absolute fools.’
Viren’s talent had never been Poison Negation.
It was Master Illusionist—an A-rank talent so deceptive and dangerous that very few even knew its full scope.
One of its main abilities was to create complex illusions that completely fooled both the sight, hearing and smell.
And because the players couldn’t see it or smell it anymore, their minds didn’t resist. They simply accepted the illusion as truth.
The only known way to see through such a high-tier illusion was through certain extremely powerful perception-based artifacts or high-tier detection skills... and Yano doubted any of these newcomers had anything of the sort.
They were too weak, desperate and stupid to see through it.
The illusion wouldn’t have worked if the gap between Viren’s strength and the targets was too wide—but most of the people gathered here were nothing special.
