Book 5: Chapter 212: Bait of Bait
“That’s…” Three looked at the scene a short distance away with annoyance.
Before her was a massive monstrous fish with a dark body, its scales shimmering with a cold light. It had a hard exoskeleton for a head and was large enough to swallow a cruise ship in a single bite. The creature was shaking its head and tearing at something.
The sight of its hideous teeth made even Three shudder.
When the fish monster finally realized that it had been futilely tearing its prey for what felt like half a day, it spat out the stupid-looking catfish with an angry expression that seemed almost human.
The catfish shook its head, then resumed swimming as if nothing had happened, circling at the same spot.
That was when Three noticed a thin line, almost invisible to the naked eye, connecting the catfish’s tail to the strange fish’s head.
“A bait?” Just like an anglerfish, it was tempting its prey with the bait connected to its head, preparing to ambush and swallow its prey whole.
Three’s expression darkened. She had been completely oblivious to the fact that the catfish was bait and had failed to recognize the presence of the fish monster. If it hadn’t been for her intuition, she might have walked right into the trap of this fish monster, which was only at the middle stage of Saint Realm.
Then again…
