"If I’m defenseless, then what about you? You’ve already used your last card against him. He won’t hesitate next time."
"You don’t get it. Trenton’s not going to kill me!" she argued, though deep down she knew she was just trying to convince herself. Sooner or later, Trenton would want her dead. Just... not yet.
Daniel turned away from her with a hard expression. "I’ve made my decision."
Chantelle let out a tired sigh. "Fine. I’ll take you to Russell’s lab tomorrow. He has medicine there." She tried to compromise with him.
"No," he mumbled while sulking.
"What do you want then? Do you really want to die that badly?" She sat up, staring at him in disbelief.
"Why not? My wife doesn’t care about me anyway. Might as well die." He moved a little closer to her.
Chantelle couldn’t help laughing. He was acting like a child.
Who would’ve thought the Demon King could be this cute?
"I see. So, you really don’t want to live anymore?"
She poked his shoulder as her voice carried a hint of laughter.
His ears turned red, but he stayed stubborn. "Why ask if you don’t care?"
