Chapter 300: I Think Daddy’s The Scariest One
Daniel grabbed Chantelle’s hand. The playful look on his face disappeared, replaced by something serious. "I got it. I’ll head back to the company after I eat," he said.
Chantelle opened her mouth, but no words came out.
Daniel was already doing his best, even if he wasn’t perfect. Pushing him more now would just be too harsh.
"Let’s just eat," she said.
She gave a small cough to hide the awkward silence.
"Honey, I want some braised pork. Honey, I need tissue. Honey, pour me some water. This is too spicy. This one’s too salty, honey."
It was just a meal, but Chantelle felt like she couldn’t take hearing him say "honey" one more time.
Whatever guilt she felt earlier had faded after watching how he acted during the meal.
She didn’t even feel nervous about Trenton’s threat anymore. That uncomfortable feeling disappeared after she crushed Daniel’s cold attitude.
After they finished eating, Daniel changed out of his casual clothes and put on a sharp, expensive suit.
As he stood there with that strong, cold presence, he was back to being the powerful and intimidating Mr. Wilson.
