Chapter 173: I Didn’t Betray You
Chantelle hadn’t seen Calvin since what happened at the mental hospital and after meeting Lone Wolf. So, she called him right away.
Kane had said Calvin sent a message to tell her he was safe, but Chantelle wanted to hear it for herself.
When Calvin answered, Chantelle stood and walked to the balcony.
"Ms. Chantelle, I’m sorry," Calvin said. "I didn’t look into it properly. I put you in danger."
"What happened while you were in the hospital?"
"I went up to the second floor and saw no patients. Mr. Jacot and the two nurses were gone too. I felt something was wrong. Just as I was about to tell you, someone knocked me out. When I woke up, I was already in a nearby hospital. Mr. Wilson’s people brought me there."
"Are you injured?" Chantelle asked subconsciously after hearing what Calvin said.
"Just a small injury. It’s nothing. Ms. Chantelle, I’m at Northern Suburbs Hospital now. But I noticed something strange. This hospital is only two kilometers from Blue Sky Mental Hospital. If someone turned the mental hospital into a battlefield, the staff might have moved the patients here. That means..."
"You’re saying Kate might have been transferred to Northern Suburbs Hospital?" Chantelle asked as her voice was filled with sudden hope.
What a clever move!
"That’s right. I’ll stay here tonight to keep investigating. Just wait for my good news."
