Chapter 9: Paying Huge Price To Stop The Gossip
Philip quickly reacted, realizing that Chantelle Bently wasn't a name Daniel wanted to hear.
Still, Philip couldn't help but be drawn to her beauty.
Without looking at the boy in his arms, he handed him to Daniel and said, "I'm sorry. It must have been a mistake. You just look like a friend of mine. I'm Philip. Please don't get the wrong idea; this isn't my son. I'm still single and make a seven-figure salary every month. How about we become friends?"
At that moment, Kane realized how popular his mother was.
Everyone who saw her seemed to be immediately charmed by her looks.
Even though his Uncle Philip wasn't the sharpest, Kane could tell he was the kind of person who was gentle and caring. Someone Kane could get a huge support one day.
Philip might not be able to compete with the big shots from overseas, but as long as his mother liked him, Kane would support them being together.
With this thought in his mind, Kane started winking at his mother.
Standing off to the side and completely ignored by everyone, Daniel's face twisted in anger.
He shot Philip a deadly glare and shouted, "Do you have a death wish, Philip?"
Kane, in Daniel's arms, could feel the intense anger around him.
