Chapter 3: Hunt Down His Daddy
Unfortunately, the boy had no identification on him.
Chantelle asked gently to avoid frightening him. "Sweetheart, don't be scared. Can you tell me where your mommy is? Do you know how to reach her?"
Railer's breathing grew even weaker, and he was close to losing consciousness.
He couldn't speak, but his small, bloodstained hands held tightly to Chantelle's sleeve, enduring the pain in silence.
The boy's bright eyes were full of tears streaming down his cheeks.
Chantelle didn't know why, but her heart suddenly ached with a feeling she couldn't explain.
Gently, she pulled the boy into her arms. "Don't be afraid, my little one. I'll take you to the hospital first, and then we'll find your mommy... just stay awake, okay? Keep your eyes open, that's a good boy... look at me! Stay with me!"
Once they reached the hospital, the boy was rushed into surgery.
After a long operation, the doctors finally said he was out of danger.
Chantelle stayed by his side the whole time, not leaving even for a moment.
This boy was the same age as her own two sons.
