Iris and Liz both knew that Rex was probably in a weird mindset after the kids tried to hit on their sisters. Since Rex only scared off the children and did not try to fight them. His anger would be towards whoever he was currently fighting.

Shaking of the temple as the two girls tried to locate Strom God kept them from moving effectively. Has they journeyed they saw the back of Rex.
Strom God had been holding his own against Rex. He might have taken some damage but it was not an all out one sided beat down.
As the duo got closer, Strom God knew that Rex would hurt these women either by tossing him into the ceiling causing it to slightly crumble or by them simply getting too close.
He turned into a Lightning Strike and reappeared behind Rex. His lips saying that it is not safe here. He tried to force Wind Qi into his hands to safely push the women back.
Rex had to turn around causing damage to himself due to the tightness of the hallway. When he saw Strom God almost touch his women. For the first time, his anger completely unleased all his physical strength maxed, his Qi no matter which one was being sent to his hands and feet, the true nature of the Demon King of Annihilation wide open for destruction within the Demon Realm, and Rex unable to think of nothing but Killing and Destruction.
Rex instantly sent Strom God into the wall and unleased massive fists of destruction upon the poor wall. Before the temple could effectively defend against it, Rex busted through by kicking with no restraints.
A demonic roar that caused demons to fear for their lives came from Rex. Lilith too did not know who or what caused the roar only that the depths of her Soul was angered too much.
