Chapter 21 - 21 Dad makes a breakthrough
During the night, Rex and his father both snuck out of camp. They knew no beasts would even try to enter the camp. Taking a few steps out of camp.
"Dad, I can reach the village fairly fast myself. I will not be able to protect you if something happens. Get on my back and I'll carry us to a point where you can cultivate and make a breakthrough." Rex whispered.
Rex's father did not seem to like what his son was saying. He would not mind if he was injured or trying to help out in another way. A father being carried by his own son's back.
Rex's father did not want the shame being on his shoulders. He would never forgive himself for doing something like this. He also knew his son would not lie to him about this.
"We will do it later." Rex's father whispered back.
The two silently walked away.
Margaret and Amber both wanted to see how Rex and his parents were doing. Judging how quiet it was, they knew something was up. Amber went and checked on Rex's parents and Margaret went to check on Rex.
Amber saw Rex's mother sleeping soundly but his father was nowhere to be found. Amber had a feeling that Rex's father wanted to make a breakthrough and that Rex helped him go get it down. Even though it was upsetting, Amber felt it best for the two men to do it.
Margaret went and saw Rex was gone. Seeing that he was, Margaret figured that Rex either went out on his own or one of his parents wanted a breakthrough. She was not one to argue about making breakthroughs but she wanted Rex to at least leave a note.
Margaret and Amber both made it back in their tent and whispered to each other. Knowing it was the two men, they decided it would be best to let everyone know in the morning. The probability of Rex's father wanting a breakthrough was extremely high.
The next morning came and Margaret and Amber both explained what happened during the night. Liz and Iris both wanted to explode. First, Rex wanted to leave and try stuff on his own. Second, Rex left during the night with his father to make a breakthrough. Never! They went to do a Quest.
