Upon hearing Zhong Niangyao’s words, Zhong Mengfan’s heart sank, a bleak premonition surging up within her. Still, she spoke, "Go on."

"What?" Zhong Mengfan looked at Zhong Niangyao in disbelief and then asked urgently, "Is it because of my recent illness? Has it caused some problem with my uterus?"
"It’s not that," Zhong Niangyao shook her head, "I’m just saying you can’t bear children, not that you can’t become pregnant."
Zhong Niangyao’s words only confused Zhong Mengfan further, "Make it clear, what exactly do you mean?"
"It’s simple," Zhong Niangyao continued, "You should be well aware that the vitality within you was given by your parents. Without them, you would have died long ago. I mentioned earlier that, even though you’re getting better, your body is riddled with issues now."
