Chapter 44: Oral Stage (2) R18
Oral Stage (2) R18
Stages of psychosexual development. Freud explained the process of human development by introducing the concept of the libido.
The libido is sexual desire, a bundle of powerful energy. It moves around different parts of the body and drives the body's development. And here, sexual desire doesn't just refer to orgasms, but to every kind of pleasure that comes from ‘sensation.'
The first stage is the oral stage. Around 18 months after birth, babies find satisfaction by constantly sucking and swallowing things. It's the basic instinct to suckle at the mother's breast to seek nourishment. If a baby doesn’t get enough oral satisfaction during this period, even as an adult, they’ll obsess over biting their nails, or habitually drinking or smoking—anything that involves sucking or biting.
I remember learning this briefly in a college general education course, but now I feel like I'm rediscovering the theory.
Smooch—
I was reminded of it through a kiss with Rose, who was sitting on my lap. As the long kiss ended, I could see her lips glistening with saliva. Mine were probably the same. I caught a glimpse of my lips in her bright eyes. The eyes of an android were clearer and more transparent than a human's.
"You're pretty forward, Rose."
"Seems so."
