With the events that unfolded at the beginning of the Great Ming World as a precedent, they could foresee what was bound to happen once the Taoist Academy started its construction.

Disciples from the academy would either become Independent Practitioners, or they would be recruited by other factions.

However, joining a new faction, their backgrounds determined that only a very small part would be appreciated and quickly rise through the ranks. Many disciples might find themselves shunned by the existing members.

After all, apart from newly established factions that were short on manpower and had enough benefits to go around, the many Imperial Dynasties, the longer they had been established, the more internal factions they had. The established interest groups certainly would not share their influence with newcomers, planting the seeds of conflict.

At first, when there were few disciples with low power, it might not seem significant, but as their number and strength grew, this would become an extremely powerful force, exacerbating the internal conflicts and struggles of many factions.

This was the challenge of the new factions to the established ones, a struggle for benefits that was also inevitable.

To avoid this conflict, they could only nip the problem in the bud to prevent the formation of new forces from the start.

But it was impossible to either assimilate them into old forces or to give up on recruiting disciples from the academy.

Integrating academy disciples depended not on empty promises, but on the actual presentation of tangible benefits for enticement, which was extremely difficult.

And giving up on recruiting disciples from the academy was even more out of the question since not doing so while other factions were recruiting would mean that one was falling behind and becoming weaker.
