Knock knock
A faint knock resonated on the door before it swung open to reveal a maid stepping inside.
"Good morning, Miss Aurora. I am here to assist you in preparing for the day, per the Alpha’s instructions," the maid informed.
At the mention of the Alpha, Aurora swiftly arose from the bed and approached the maid with eager anticipation.
"Where is the Alpha?" she inquired.
"Um, the Alpha has gone on a journey," the maid hesitated before reluctantly answering.
"Gone? How? When? Why?" Aurora bombarded the maid with a flurry of questions, causing the maid’s face to flush with anxiety. She had only learned about the Alpha’s departure through the gossip among the omegas, and she worried about how she might defend her responses to Aurora.
"I have no precise information, Miss Aurora. Perhaps you should seek answers from Miss Theresa or the Alpha’s brother," the maid replied, striving to maintain a polite tone, even as her heart raced with apprehension.
"Oh no!" Aurora’s voice trembled as she processed the unexpected news. She had been looking forward to the contract’s dissolution and her newfound freedom from him. Why had he left? Was it intentional, or had something gone wrong?
"Theresa!" Remembering the maid’s suggestion to consult Theresa, she exclaimed and hurriedly left the room, leaving the maid behind.
"That was close." Relieved that she was no longer responsible for Aurora, the maid wasted no time and also made her exit from the room.
