Chapter 132: Bracelet
"We have to get going now, as we still have to get some things for the baby. I hope you two have a great time," Belle said, immediately regretting her choice of words at the end. She sounded jealous rather than genuinely happy for them.
"Since you are here, why not join us? The babysitter can hold the baby and wait with my entourage. I will show you around," Christabel suggested before Belle could turn away, causing her eyes to widen. That was the last thing she wanted.
"No, that’s fine. Lin has already shown me around. I shouldn’t burden you two," she replied with an awkward smile.
"No one called you a burden. She merely offered out of kindness. It is your decision to accept or not," Quinn finally spoke after remaining silent, causing Belle’s smile to falter. What a way to make her look bad in front of Christabel. If only she could punch that mouth of his ears but she knew better than to make mistakes in front of Christabel.
"Just come on," Christabel urged with a playful wink, leaving Belle with no choice but to comply.
"Alright," she agreed, moving closer to Lin and handing Ezekiel over to them.
"I am sorry..." she began, but Lin cut her off.
"It is fine. I never knew you were of such high standing. I should be the one apologizing for not honoring you properly," they said, causing Belle to smile awkwardly. And that was exactly why she avoided disclosing her identity, to prevent this uncomfortable distancing. Lin likely wouldn’t be as free with her anymore.
"It’s fine," she reassured before turning to face Christabel and Quinn, who had already begun walking away.
