Divorce The Duke, Marry The King!

Chapter 65: Screwing that maid

"Don’t bend, and let your anger drive you, not drag you down," Quinn instructed, his movements still effortlessly evading her attacks.

"Are you toying with me? You are no match for me! You could have at least let me train with someone my size!" She snapped, her frustration boiling over as she glared at him. A reasonable person would have acknowledged her point, and deep down, he knew she wasn’t wrong.

"You think anyone here is your match because of your age?" He countered, a mocking smile tugging at his lips. It was the same infuriating smile that both taunted her and dripped with pity, the one she despised with every fiber of her being. She wished she could slap it right off his face.

"It’s better than fighting someone I can never defeat," she retorted, refusing to back down.

Quinn took a deliberate step closer, his tone colder as he said, "Low self-esteem will kill you faster than your pathetic skills. I don’t waste my time training people without ambition as they are nothing but a burden. I am your leader here, not your ex-husband, Belle. Don’t think I will go easy on you."

The sting of his words hit deep, and she knew he was trying to provoke her. He was always like this, brutal in his honesty, cruel when necessary. But beneath the skin, she recognized his intent. He knew her too well, knew that she needed the push, even if it hurt. He was willing to be the villain if it meant she would grow stronger. That, she suspected, was why Hezekiah had chosen him to train her.

Still, Quinn was playing a dangerous game. Training her meant being strict, leaving no room for softness or romance. Yet he knew, as did she, that no title or boundary could stop him from flirting with her if he truly wanted to.

"You want me to attack? Fine," Belle said through gritted teeth, her anger sharpening her resolve. She took a deep breath, steadying herself, and shifted into a determined stance.

"That’s more like it," Quinn said, clearly impressed. He winked, further stoking her fury, and Belle lunged at him with renewed vigor.

Her movements were no longer clumsy. Each strike carried purpose, and she began to notice the gaps in his defense. Slowly but surely, she gained an upper hand, finally managing to grab hold of him.

Grunting, Belle summoned all her strength to force him to the ground. But Quinn was too solid, his size an undeniable advantage. She managed to shift his position, but bringing him down completely was another matter.
