Cosmic Lord: The Error Awakens

Chapter 17: The First Recon

The seventeenth dawn flared over Kael El's domain, a molten violet-gold sky casting a fierce light across the citadel and its four territories. The mana lake shimmered southwest, its waters now a pulsing hub of power, while the central settlement buzzed with 110,000 subjects—warriors drilling, mages channeling, and builders stacking stone. Kael leaned against the citadel's eastern rampart, the Stormforged Blade in hand, Stormhide Armor crackling with mana from his EX: Mana Ocean. His flirty smirk danced, a cool dominance radiating from his relaxed stance as he eyed the eastern horizon where Draxis's dragon nests loomed.

Day 17. Time to poke the dragon. His dark eyes gleamed with unwavering confidence, a quiet pride simmering beneath his chill exterior. One hundred ten thousand souls, four territories, and a mana-fueled edge—most lords would've played it cautious. Kael? He thrived, his resilience a blazing core. Draxis thinks he's hot stuff. Let's see how he handles my storm.

A sharp ding sliced through the morning hum, the system panel flaring up.

"Day 17: Post-Peace Period. Territory Level: 3. Population: 110,015 Subjects. Food Stock: 5 Days Remaining. Resource Yield: +20% (Lv. 3 Bonus)."

Kael's smirk widened, a playful edge cutting through the air. "Five days of chow? Enough to barbecue some lizards." His calm under pressure was unshakable—war was his playground, and he'd rigged the rules. The Lord Map glowed, Draxis's nests a red smear fifteen miles east: jagged peaks, smoke trails, and dragon roars echoing faintly. Big toys. Mine soon. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ NovᴇlFirᴇ(.)nᴇt

Lysa approached, her silver eyes sharp, her orb pulsing with mana. "Lord Kael, Seryn and I can scout Draxis today. My Aura Seer caught heat signatures—dragons, maybe fifty, plus troops." Her voice was soft but firm, her Perk humming at 5,000%.

Kael pushed off the rampart, clapping her shoulder with a flirty grin. "Lysa, you're my spotlight. Take Seryn—find me weak spots, numbers, anything juicy. Stay sneaky." She nodded, loyalty flickering in her gaze, and Seryn melted from shadow beside her, her Shadow Veil cloaking her entirely.

"Eastern peaks are rough," Seryn whispered. "I'll get us in close."

Kael winked. "Seryn, you're my ghost. Bring me gold." They vanished east, and he turned to the Summoning Altar, its Mana Crystal glowing with Lv. 3 power. Eleven summons left. Let's add fire.

He pressed a hand to the crystal, voice smooth and teasing. "Alright, gorgeous, give me a blaze."

The altar flared, and a sixteenth figure emerged—a tall woman with fiery red hair and a whip of flame coiled at her hip. She knelt, voice crackling. "Lord Kael, I am Rhea. Perk: Flame Lash – +50% fire damage, burning strikes."

Kael's grin turned protective yet playful. "Rhea, huh? A torch is perfect. Train with Elys—burn Draxis's toys." She rose with a nod, her whip snapping with heat, and the system blared.
