Chapter 248: Blood Type O
Amelia’s eyes widened a little in surprise at the question.
"Yes..." she said, dragging out the word in confusion. "Why?"
Matteo instantly stood up and went towards the surgeon. Amelia thought he was about to ask about getting a vial of Emmeline’s blood for testing, but what he asked was completely different.
"Excuse me, but there’s no way that a child with Blood Type O could possibly be born to parents with Blood types A and AB, is it?"
Amelia’s eyes widened at Matteo’s words. Didn’t this mean that... this couldn’t be! This was so outrageous the very thought threatened to send her mind into a tailspin.
If Emmeline wasn’t Benjamin and Annalise’s daughter, then whose daughter was she? Did they pick her up from the garbage dump?
She glanced at Matteo, whose face was the very picture of glacial calm. She could only envy his composure― Amelia wanted to scream in shock. But then again, maybe there was some medical explanation for this. Amelia vaguely recalled in her high school biology class that some genes were recessive. Perhaps this was the same for blood types.
The surgeon stared at Matteo silently for a brief moment, as he held her gaze.
Finally, she gave a quick, jerky nod. "You’re right."
