Marry My Billionaire Second Husband

Chapter 232: Dark Knight

Caleb’s head finally veered to the door right as he heard the third bang. He frowned, sharply turning to see what the commotion was.

Before he could ask the guards what was happening — considering how he had ordered them to not disturb at all costs — the door suddenly burst open. Or more accurately, it splintered into a hundred pieces as the body of one of the guards he had hired came soaring into the room.

"Fuck!" Caleb jumped in surprise, using one of the spare pillows to cover himself as he jumped off Amelia due to his shock.

The guard crashed through the door and against the wall, his head slumped forward before his entire body dropped to the floor in a heap. There wasn’t even so much as a groan that came from him― just like that, the man was knocked out cold.

What followed was the sound of the shards of glass crackling beneath the sole of a shoe, along with the crunch of the splintered pieces of wood. One polished shoe entered the room, followed by another, and when Caleb and Amelia looked at the door, both were wide-eyed with surprise to see a man saunter in with his hand lazily tucked in the pocket of his trousers, his other hand digging his ear.

"What an amateur," the man muttered under his breath. Then, he turned his head to survey the rest of the room, only to find Amelia’s face tear-stricken but filled with relief, while Caleb was stunned by fear.

"How did you―?" Caleb hadn’t even managed to get the question out of his mouth before the man crossed the room and toward the bed.

Amelia had sat up the moment Caleb was off of her, but with her clothes scattered on the floor in tatters, she wasn’t able to effectively cover herself, especially with her hands cuffed together. However, she needn’t worry about that, for the next thing she knew, a pressed black suit jacket was thrown over her body, covering what was needed.

Aiden stood by the bedside― without his outerwear and dressed only in black trousers and a crumpled white shirt that had the first few buttons undone, he looked more like a delinquent from the local boys’ school rather than a CEO of a respectable company.

"So when my personal assistant didn’t come back from her coffee break, this was where she had been kidnapped to, I see," he said, scoffing mockingly.

Then, before Caleb could react, Aiden had pulled his arm back and punched forward, socking Caleb right in the eye with a sickening crunch.
