Chapter 227: A Sudden Visit

Amelia’s eyebrows quickly knitted themselves together as she stared at Dimitri’s reply, chewing on her bottom lip as she did so. She wasn’t exactly the best of friends with Kelsie — in fact, it was quite the opposite seeing as to how Kelsie was Amelia’s ex-husband’s new partner — but this message didn’t seem like a threat.
No matter how she looked at it, Kelsie seemed to be warning her.
But of what?
Why would Kelsie Friesent bother to warn her of such things when she surely wanted her gone as much as Emmeline did?
Before Amelia could think much of it, the phone on her desk let out a blinking red light. Amelia jumped in surprise before pressing the receive button, picking up the phone at the same time.
"Miss Kentwood, there’s someone at the front desk requesting to see you," the receptionist said the moment Amelia answered the call.
"Me?" Amelia asked, confused.
She cast a quick glance in the direction of Aiden’s office. The door was closed but through the frosted layer, she could faintly see his figure hunched over the desk. She would rather believe he was taking a nap than working tediously through the mountain of documents she placed there for him this morning.
"Who is it?"
"He didn’t leave a name," the woman on the other end said. "He did leave a slip though, and I was told to pass it to you since he had no access to the building. He left before I could page you."
